I am obsessed with wearing slippers around the house.  I find regular shoes to be too heavy and stiff to comfortably wear while lounging around the house but my feet do tend to get cold so I have turned to slippers and they are wonderful!  For the past several years, I have worn some sheep’s wool slippers or something like that but I am on my last pair and don’t expect to be given another pair so I will soon be looking for some new slippers and I think I have found the perfect ones.

If you are a Doctor Who fan like I am, you will love lounging around the house watching Doctor Who in these fantastic TARDIS slippers!  Now that winter is quickly approaching, your feet are going to start getting really cold and you need a nice pair of slippers like these to keep them warm!  And what is better than watching the Doctor Who Christmas Special or even the 50th anniversary special while curled up on the couch in a TARDIS snuggie and wearing some TARDIS slippers?  Well, if you want a TARDIS snuggie, you will have to make your own but you can at least buy the slippers.

The awesome Whovians over at ThinkGeek are selling these really cool Doctor Who TARDIS slippers for just $19.99 (this is an affiliate link so we get credit for telling you about these awesome slippers which goes toward helping us keep the lights on)!  They are available in a range of sizes so assuming you don’t have some clown feet or something, you should be able to wear a pair of these.  However, these might even be bigger on the inside so that wouldn’t be a problem but I wouldn’t count on it.

Whether you want a pair of these for yourself or you are looking for a Christmas gift for that Whovian in your life, you need to order these Doctor Who slippers!

One of my favorite things to check out at my local state fair the giant sand sculptures that they often have (I don’t think they have had them the last couple of years for some reason).  Each year there is a different theme and they work on it throughout the fair so you can see them create this amazingly detailed sand sculpture that is easily over ten feet tall.  Unfortunately, while they have done everything from dinosaurs to sports, they have never done a Doctor Who sand sculpture and after seeing the one below, I really hope they do someday.

This fantastic 50th anniversary Doctor Who sand sculpture featuring the 11th Doctor, some Daleks, the TARDIS, a couple of Cybermen and a couple of Weeping Angels can be seen at the Sandworld sand sculpture festival in the UK.  The festival runs until November 3rd so you still have some time to go check this out in person if you happen to be in the UK between now and then.

I wish they would have sand sculpting festivals around here because sand sculptures are cool!

It amazes me that in around 2,800 posts I have written on Global Geek News over the past half dozen years or so, only once have I featured a Stargate cake.  I’ve posted hundreds of other cakes ranging from Star Trek and Star Wars to Super Mario Bros and Legend of Zelda but I’ve only posted one really cool Stargate cake in the past.  Well, it is time that changes and I share another incredible Stargate cake I have stumbled across.

This incredible Stargate birthday cake features a very realistic looking Stargate that even has all of the symbols on it.  It appears to have been created by a Lina DeMorais and I’d say she did one heck of a job!  Something tells me that Samantha’s birthday was quite epic.

I am curious to know how long it took to get that level of detail on the Stargate and most importantly, I wonder if the cake tasted as good as it looks?  I wish somebody would make cakes like these for my friends because I would love to have a piece of Stargate.

Once in a while, it would be nice to see the different bad guys in Doctor Who fighting each other.  I have long wondered exactly how a battle between the Weeping Angels and the Silence would play out.  Of all the possible battles in the Doctor Who universe, I think this would be the one I would most like to see.  Perhaps someday there will be an episode of Doctor Who putting them against each other so we finally have an answer as to who would win in a fight, the Weeping Angels or the Silence.

Until then, you can keep dreaming of this match-up thanks to the incredible folks at TShirtBordello.com (the same guys that sell the DJ Princess Leia t-shirt that coincidentally, I am wearing as I type this, as well as many other shirts I have posted here in the past) who are selling this Weeping Angel vs the Silence stare down contest t-shirt for just $10!  Normally it is $15 (still a great price) but it is on sale right now but the sale will last only through the weekend so if you want this shirt for this incredible price, I would get it now!

Whether you are a big Doctor Who fan or just a fan of staring contests, you need this shirt!

While the majority of people I know start their mornings off with a bowl of cereal, I have never been a cereal eating kind of guy, even as a kid.  My problem isn’t so much with cereal as I’m just not a milk fan.  I know I am missing out on some of my nutritional needs because of my distaste for milk assuming the commercials are to be believed, but I just can’t stand the stuff.  However, if there was ever a hope of getting me to eat cereal, it would have to be with a bowl of Whovi-Os!

The awesome geeks over at TeeFury are selling this incredible Doctor Who inspired Whovi-Os cereal t-shirt for just $11 today only!  Whether you like cereal or not, as long as you like Doctor Who, you are going to love this fantastic Doctor Who themed cereal box style t-shirt created by Bamboota and WinterArtwork Illustrations.

Even though I don’t like cereal and would really be hesitant to try one that tasted like fish fingers and custard, I am still ordering one of these shirts just because I am a huge Doctor Who fan and I recommend all of my fellow Whovians do the same!  How can you beat $11 for such a cool t-shirt?!  Speaking of 11, did I mention it features the 11th Doctor too?

I’ve seen people make Daleks out of all kinds of crazy stuff like the post from last week where somebody decided to make a cool Dalek planter for their flowers but I would have never imagined that somebody would make a Dalek out of bacteria in a petri dish.  To be honest, I never even knew you could do that!  I know you can teach dogs all kinds of tricks but E Coli?  Impressive!

A Whovian going by the name of Who-lligan apparently works in some sort of lab and decided to make a Dalek out of E. Coli bacteria.  I think this person should win some kind of award for this like most clever idea for building a Dalek or perhaps the deadliest.

CONTAMINATE!
