Even though I may not be a huge fan of eating gingerbread, I do appreciate seeing all of the cook gingerbread creations that people make this time of year.  I have posted a lot of cool gingerbread creations recently ranging from a gingerbread TARDIS and K9 to a gingerbread Millennium Falcon.  Well, now we have a gingerbread creation from the Star Trek universe!

The Food Replicator blog has posted about this awesome gingerbread Star Trek communicator that they made recently.  You can find links to the recipe and stuff they used over on their post, but here are some of the details for how it was made and a picture of the completed TOS communicator!

I cut out the pattern pieces on thick card paper and then used that to cut out the cookie pieces. I froze the dough before cooking as this helps it keep its shape.

I used royal icing (1 egg white, add icing sugar until the desired consistency is reached) for all decorations, as well as for gluing the pieces together.

Toothpicks and scrunched up pieces of plastic wrap are both very useful to use as prop-ups while waiting for the royal icing to dry when gluing the pieces together.

When it comes to how my bed looks, I don’t do anything too special.  My comforter is denim and is designed to look like a pair of jeans.  Since my bed is never made anyway, it seems kind of silly to go with anything too special.  However, I would love to have this amazing Star Wars comforter on my bed!

For the Star Wars fans out there interested in giving their bed a Star Wars makeover, perhaps because they already have a Star Wars themed bedroom, you can get this Star Wars comforter from Amazon for $97.94.  It fits a twin or full size bed and as of the time of this writing, there is only one left in stock so if you want it, you should act quickly!  Warning:  Pillow cases are not included!

Use the Force as your sleep aid!

Are you looking for a fantastic way to propose to that special Whovian in your life?  I so, then I think I have found the engagement ring box for you!  Even if you aren’t looking to propose to that special somebody (assuming you even have a special somebody) this is still one of the coolest engagement ring boxes you will ever see!

In the past, I have posted a couple of rather clever Doctor Who inspired engagement ring boxes including one made out of the spoilers book and another ring box made out of a TARDIS, but I think the one pictured below is much cooler!

This TARDIS engagement ring box was created by Paul Pape Designs who makes custom ring boxes that range in price from $300-800 depending on how complex you want your ring box to be.  Unlike traditional ring boxes, rather than opening at the middle (like the TARDIS ring box I mentioned above), this one comes open at the top and it even has its own lighting!  Not only is the ring well let, but the beacon on top of the TARDIS lights up too.

Ring boxes are cool!

For as much as I enjoy catching an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation whenever it is on , I’ve never become as attached to the show like I have with Deep Space Nine (which I am watching through again for probably the 10th time).  Even though it might not be my favorite, I still found this Star Trek: The Next Generation gag reel to be quite hilarious!

Apparently this gag reel comes from season two of Star Trek: TNG and it will have you seeing the characters and likely the actors in a whole new light.

After you watch all of this Star Trek blooper reel goodness, let us know in the comments which part was your favorite.  I think my favorite are the one’s with Picard having issues with the doors.

If people don’t stop making awesome Doctor Who shirts, I’m going to have to build an extra closet on the back of my house just to store all of the shirts I keep buying.  Seriously, I have a crap ton of Doctor Who shirts thanks to cheap shirt sites.

Speaking of Doctor Who and cheap shirt sites, the awesome folks over at TeeFury are selling this Doctor Who inspired Dalek IMPERSONATE! shirt for just $10 TODAY ONLY!

If you are a huge Dalek fan like most Whovians are, this shirt features 3 Daleks disguised to impersonate the 4th Doctor, 10th Doctor and 11th Doctor.  Whether you love the Daleks or just those Doctors, how can you say no to this awesome shirt?  I know I can’t!  Now where did I put my credit card…

Last week I posted about some really cool Star Wars lightsaber pens and since that seemed to go over pretty well judging by the response it got on Twitter, I thought you guys would also enjoy a Doctor Who sonic screwdriver pen!

The Doctor Who loving folks over at ThinkGeek are selling this fantastic sonic screwdriver pen for just $15.99!  This pen normally runs $29.99 so if you need to do a lot of writing and have a love for the 11th Doctor’s sonic screwdriver, I would jump on this deal now while it is 47% off before it goes back up and you have to pay full price (which seems a bit much to me).

Just so you don’t get your hopes up let me stress that this is just a pen!  It doesn’t light up or make the sonic screwdriver sounds or anything, it just writes in black or green ink (who writes in green ink?!).  While I find the lack of sounds and lights to be disappointing, plain old pens are still cool!

Are you one of the people that have been hit by the recent Christmas time snow storm?  Are you looking for an idea for something fun that you can make out of all of the snow that got dumped in your neighborhood?  How about making some awesome Star Wars snow sculptures with all of that snow!

I recently posted a picture of a little kid riding an AT-AT snow sculpture and in that same theme, I thought you guys would also enjoy seeing this kid riding a Tauntaun snow sculpture.

Unfortunately, I don’t know who made this awesome Tauntaun snow sculpture (if you know who made it, please let us know in the comments below so we can give them credit), but I’d say they did a rather amazing job with it!

Are you sad because your pens are so ugly that nobody wants to steal your pens at the office?  Well, you can at least make sure the Star Wars fans will be trying everything they can to steal your pen thanks to these amazing lightsaber pens!

The super geeks over at ThinkGeek are selling these Star Wars lightsaber pens for $20!  While that does sound a bit much for a pen, that is just because you don’t know all of the details yet.  Not only does this pen look like a lightsaber, it comes in a collectible tin too!  The point is also retractable and the ink is refillable so you don’t have to throw it away after you run out of ink (which is black for all of the colors by the way).

As for the bad news, the blue one is currently out of stock with a 1-3 week wait for it to be restocked, but the green and red are still available!

Personally, I have never been one to care about expensive pens.  Sure, they write nice and everything but I just don’t see them justifying the cost which is why the pens I usually use are swiped from the bank.  However, with lightsaber pens like these, I might actually be inclined to buy a pen instead of steal one for a change!

Have you ever been watching your favorite series of Star Trek (Deep Space Nine is my favorite) and think to yourself “wow, that gagh looks really good!  I wish I knew how to make it”?  Well, now you can make yourself a plate of gagh and much more with the help of Neelix’s Star Trek cookbook!  Actually, the recipe in the cookbook doesn’t include worms but you can always make a substitution.  Anyway…

The uber geeks over at ThinkGeek are selling the official Star Trek cookbook for just $19.99!  That is on sale for 13% off of the normal $22.99 price so I don’t know how long that price is going to stick around.  And if you think they are just using Neelix’s image to sell this Star Trek cookbook, fear not because Ethan Phillips is actually one of the authors!

If you get this book (or already have it) and try some recipes from it, let me know how they turned out in the comments below!  I’ve seen this on the shelves of my local mega book store in the past but since I am not much of a cook, I haven’t picked up a copy although I would love to know how good some of the iconic Star trek foods taste!
