Most people might think it is kind of odd to imagine Darth Vader rocking out but I would disagree.  My favorite band, Epica (a symphonic metal band for those who haven’t heard of them), is known to play a metal version of the Imperial March at their concerts which is always a highlight for me (you can find tons of videos of them playing it on YouTube).  The only thing that would make it better is if they were dressed up as Darth Vader and some Stormtroopers.  Well, speaking of the idea of Darth Vader rocking out, how about imagining that in the form of a cake!

This awesome Star Wars cake with Darth Vader rocking out on what appears to be a bass guitar was created by Cakes By Pixie Pie.  It might not be the biggest looking Star Wars cake I have ever seen but it is still pretty cool.

Anybody who knows me or is an avid Global Geek News reader knows that I have a major pizza addiction.  If I don’t have at least two pizzas a week (on Monday and Thursdays unless some life or death situation gets in the way), I am not the most pleasant person to be around and I become a bit paranoid.  Well, more paranoid than usual.  Anyway, I’m not one for making my own pizza but if I did, I would do my best to replicate this amazing Dalek pizza!

I’m not sure who made this delicious looking Dalek pizza so if you know, please let us know in the comments below so they can get the credit they deserve!  I’d say this is a far better looking pizza than the Dalek pizza I posted like a year and a half ago but I wouldn’t turn my nose up at that one either.

MASTICATE!

Despite the fact that it seems like I have posted tons of Star Wars cakes (just search Star Wars cake on the right to find them all), I can’t recall any of them being an Imperial Star Destroyer cake.  Well, I think it is time for the Star Destroyer to take its spotlight in the cake world and I would say it is off to an amazing start with this Imperial Star Destroyer cake that even lights up!

Star Wars fan Lorenzo Wood made this spectacular Imperial Star Destroyer cake for his son Alexander’s birthday.  I’d say this kid is lucky to have one cool dad!

If the pictures and video below of the cake have you wondering just how this Star Destroyer birthday cake was made, check out the Flickr album where you can see a ton of pictures of the building process of this cake.

Come to the Dark Side!  We have cake!

Considering I don’t drink beer, I would have absolutely no use for a beer pong table.  However, I still enjoy seeing really geeky beer pong tables.  In the past, I have posted a really cool Legend of Zelda inspired beer pong table as well as another Legend of Zelda beer pong table that is a map of the NES game.  Well, now it looks like the Pokemon world is getting in on the action with this amazing Pokemon beer pong table!

Reddit user legabwej created this amazing Pokemon beer pong table while in college (of course).  It is made to look like two people battling a Blastoise and a Charizard on a couple of Game Boy systems linked together with a cable.  I’d say he did a pretty amazing job with it!

It seems like superhero mash-up cakes featuring Superman, Spider-Man and Batman are a hot thing lately.  This is the third one I have posted in just the last two months!  The first superhero mash-up cake featured an actual Spider-Man figure on the top while the other featured an amazing pair of Hulk hands.  Well, now I have stumbled upon another superhero cake that features arguably the three most popular superheroes ever.

This amazing superhero cake featuring Superman, Spider-Man and Batman was created by Hamley Bake Shoppe.  Its not the most ornate cake I have ever seen, but I would say they did a splendid job!

This brings me to my question for the post.  Does anybody else find Spider-Mans mask kind of creepy?  I’ve always been kind of creeped out by the eyes.  Does anybody else feel this way?  Let me know in the comments below!

Although I have had a lot of suckers in my day, I have to admit that I have never had a lollipop.  Its not that I wouldn’t mind trying one (I would love to), its just that nobody has ever offered me one and its not something I ever think about picking up when I am in a candy store.  However, if I ever find a candy store with a Death Star lollipop like the one below, I will definitely get one!

Although its not in a candy, you can get these Death Star lollipops on Etsy!  Star Wars fan and Etsy seller designerlollipop is selling this set of 6 Death Star lollipops for $12.

In case you needed another reason to get these awesome Death Star lollipops, they are marshmallow flavored!  I know I definitely want a marshmallow flavored Death Star!

To be completely honest, I have never even heard of a proposal cake before seeing this Doctor Who proposal cake.  I have heard of engagement rings and whatnot to celebrate the popping of the question but a proposal cake?!  This idea just seems strange.  I’m not complaining as any excuse for cake is a good excuse for me, I just think it is a little odd… or ood.

Well, if you are going to do something less traditional like a proposal cake, you might as well do it right and have an incredible Doctor Who cake made for the event!

The awesome bakers over at Nerdache Cakes (who I have featured many times in the past which you can find by searching for them on the right) were the creators of this amazing Doctor Who cake that features various iconic bits of Who including the TARDIS and the 4th Doctor’s scarf.  Speaking of the 4th Doctor’s scarf, we are running a caption contest to win your own 4th Doctors scarf.  It ends Wednesday, February 6, 2013 so go enter before its too late!  Anyway…

The TARDIS (the real “cake” part of this cake) is banana cake with dark chocolate crunch bits and ganache layers while the two figures are made of fondant.  I’ve never had a banana cake before but it sure sounds and looks yummy!

One of my favorite things about the popular Worms games is just how absurd it is.  Sure, it is a lot of fun because there is a lot of strategy involved, but just the thought of worms trying to kill other worms with flying sheep, concrete donkeys, and exploding bananas is so silly it is funny!  It was even better back in the day when they used to put little cartoons with the game of the worms trying to kill each other that you would randomly see when launching the game (why don’t they do that anymore?!).

Well, I’m not the only one who has a love for the Worms turn-based strategy game as one Worms fan by the name of Clare decided to make some awesome Worms cupcakes for somebody’s 23rd birthday.  I’d say she did a great job and I am impressed with the detail on the cupcakes, especially on the weapons.

If you have made any cool video game related cupcakes you want to see us post, let us know through the contact page linked above this post!

Next to bacon, my favorite breakfast food is definitely pancakes.  I’m not sure which flavor is my favorite as it just kind of depends on my mood, but I love not only traditional pancakes, I enjoy pumpkin pancakes and New York cheesecake pancakes too!  Yeah, I might be headed for an early grave (especially with the cheesecake pancakes), but at least it was was a yummy trip!

Speaking of delicious pancakes, the awesome pancake maker Saipancakes is at it again with these amazing Nintendo themed pancakes!  Recently, I have posted about their other pancake creations like the Hobbit pancakes and Star Trek TOS panckes although having been a big Nintendo fan since the age of 2, I would have to say these are my favorite.

Of these, I can’t decide if Donkey Kong or Kirby is my favorite with Yoshi in a close 3rd.  Which one do you like the most?  Let us know in the comments below!

When I talk about something explosive in relation to food, it usually isn’t a very good thing.  Normally it is the consequence of food not agreeing with me.  However, in today’s case, explosives and food is a very good combination!  While I would never normally endorse the combination of the two (unless you are part of the Mythbusters team), this Worms Holy Hand Grenade cake is not lethal so I am not too worried about it.

This amazing Worms Holy Hand Grenade cake was made by Snickerdoodles Bakery of Hampstead, MD for a guy named Steve for his 30th birthday.  Apparently his wife and a friend decided to get this cake for him and I would say it made for a pretty awesome birthday!

I’m still five years away from hitting that big 30 milestone but I already think I want a cake like this for my 30th birthday!
