If there is one thing that the world needs, its more military equipment converted into ice cream trucks.  There is just something awesome about the thought of a tank driving around my neighborhood playing old theme songs from cartoons of past decades while selling ice cream to everybody.  Apparently they have such a thing in the LEGO Star Wars universe because somebody has made this awesome Imperial AT-AT out of LEGO bricks that has been converted into an ice cream truck.  As cool as this is, it seems kind of silly considering you would need a really tall ladder to get up to the side of the AT-AT to get your ice cream.

For the past week, I have been kicking around an idea of having a weekly Global Geek News newsletter and I thought I would run it by you guys and see what you think and find out if you would be interested in subscribing.

Basically, I have been thinking of creating a newsletter that would go out once a week that would give you 5 more pieces of geeky awesomeness straight to your email that won’t be on Global Geek News.  It would be the same geeky stuff you have come to love Global Geek News for but only those that are subscribed would get to see this geeky stuff.  Sound like something you would love?

The catch?  You would have to pay a monthly fee to be among the exclusive group to enjoy this stuff. It would be really cheap to give you guys a great value, probably like $3-5 a month.  Basically, you would get 20 more items of geeky greatness every month for just a couple of bucks.  It would be a great value!

Now for the big question I am sure you are all asking.  Why?  It boils down to the fact that I am really in the hole with Global Geek News (good hosting isn’t cheap and adsense doesn’t make crap, even with 170,000+ pageviews in the last 30 days) and I need help paying the bills, especially now that I am about to launch two other blogs which I will talk about in the next day or two.  Also, my dream is to blog for a living so if I can reverse the cashflow so that it comes to me instead of the money going out of my bank account, that would put me one step closer to achieving my dream.

So what do you think?  Put your thoughts in the comments!  Would you sign up?  How much would you be willing to pay for the newsletter?  Would you like to see more in the newsletter than just 5 extra geek themed posts?  Share your thoughts in the comments below!

First it was Darth Vader latte art, then it was Batman latte art, then came some Stormtrooper latte art and now we have some Angry Birds latte art!  I think the detail on this Angry Birds latte probably makes it my favorite piece of beverage art so far.  After taking about a 2 month break from the addictive game, I have been playing some of the spin-off versions lately and the franchise is definitely worthy of having somebody make some drink art out of it.  It almost looks too good to drink!

What do you get when you cross religion with Futurama?  Savior Zoidberg of course!  A Futurama fan with what appears to be a really hairy leg is sporting this awesome Zoidberg tattoo where he appears to be a religious icon.  The amount of color in this cool tattoo is definitely going to grab your attention.  However, I’m not quite sure why anybody would want to portray Zoidberg as a religious figure.  This body art still looks good to me!

Another day, another awesome Star Wars themed cake.  Yesterday, it was the slightly cartoony looking Millennium Falcon cake and now we have a delicious looking R2-D2 cake.  Judging by the size and detail on the cake, I assume this is probably a wedding cake but there is no indication as to what the cake is for.  All I know is that when a cake wishes that the Force be with me, I must eat it!  If you have ever had any geeky cakes, tell us about it in the comments and remember that we are visual people so pictures are always welcome!

Pink Ranger with a Violin

Pink Ranger with a Violin

I loved watching the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as a kid (the original one, not the spin-off ones).  As cheap as it looked sometimes, it was still an entertaining show and I enjoyed the video games too.  Sadly, the show isn’t on anymore so I haven’t seen it in years but this video of a girl named Lara dressed as the Pink Ranger playing the MMPR theme song on her violin brought back a lot of memories.  Why can’t we have great shows like this back on tv?

As much as I love both pizza and playing video games, I never do both at the same time because I don’t want my controllers to be covered in grease.  Until now, I never really even considered that the grease could get on the video game cartridge as well, but that is probably going to happen when you stick it into the pizza.  Apparently some Nintendo 64 loving pizza eater decided to combine the two in an action that makes me want to cry.  He sticks the N64 classic Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time into the pizza and even hooks up all of his cables to it.  The cables I’m sure are fine since they are just plugged into the crust but sticking the game cartridge right into the cheese seems like a very bad idea that could ruin the game.  Video games and pizza do NOT mix!!!

Normally, I am not a fan of women that sport the one piece swimsuit (I’m a 2-piece bikini kind of guy) but I have found an exception to that preference.  The Polyester/Elastane Pac-Man swimsuit in the picture below was designed by James Lillis and can be purchased for $90 from Black Milk Clothing.  I’d say this is a must have for any Pac-Man loving gamer girls, especially if they like to spend some time on the beach or at the swimming pool.  Sadly, there is no mens version of this vintage gaming awesomeness.

I’ve posted several Star Wars Millennium Falcon cakes here in the past including this amazing Millennium Falcon wedding cake but I have found another awesome one to post although this one has more of a cartoony look too it.  Normally, I am not a fan of giving things a cartoon type look but for this cake, I think it works out pretty well.  Well enough that I would eat it anyway!  Giovanni Ozuna did an awesome job when making this awesome Star Wars themed Millennium Falcon cake!  Now I am hungry for some cake.  Somebody bring me some food!

It saddens me that I have never come across any awesome Final Fantasy stuff worth posting, or at least not until today.  Etsy seller PrettySneaky is selling the awesome Final Fantasy knit Converse Chuck Taylor Sneakers in the picture below for $120.  The best part is that they are using the characters from the classic Final Fantasy for the NES (my favorite and the prized possession of my NES game collection)!  The picture below shows the shoes with the white mage and the black mage but you can choose the characters you want for your custom pair of Chucks.  I’d say these are a must for any Final Fantasy fan that is looking for a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor sneakers.
