Happy New Year From Global Geek News And What To Expect in 2014!

Happy New Year 2014It is still about 15 hours away from the new year for me, but I wanted to take a moment and wish everybody a Happy New Year!

This year has been full of ups and downs for Global Geek News and myself personally but hopefully 2014 will be full with nothing but ups!  So far, things are already looking pretty bright but I’m not one to count my chickens before they hatch.

So, what can you expect in the new year from Global Geek News?  Well, for starters, regular posts!  Starting next week if not before (if the mood strikes me), we will be back to AT LEAST 3 posts a week (Mon-Wed-Fri schedule).  I already have a number of posts written and ready to go just to make sure things get started off smoothly.  If my personal life allows, I will even try to get back to posting five days a week.

Also, I have begun toying with a new design for Global Geek News and Fanboy Fashion, my other geek blog.  While I have always liked this current design, the developer is no longer in business and actively supporting it so I feel the need to move on.  Also, with the last major revision they did, they increased the font size bigger than I liked so I am hoping to fix that with the new design.  I don’t have an ETA on the change yet as I am still kicking around some ideas but depending on how much time I get to work on it, hopefully it will be up and running in the next month or two.  I also plan on launching forums and perhaps an IRC chatroom at the same time.

Finally, I just wanted to take a moment and thank all of you for being so loyal and great to me over the past year.  This year, we broke 3 million views, hit a record number of subscribers on the Kindle (you can subscribe here) and I finally made enough money this year to cover the expenses of running the site and have enough left over for a pizza.  Hopefully next year I will make enough money to have two pizzas!

Have a Happy New Year and I will see you in 2014!
