Star Trek’s Maquis killed Osama Bin Laden?! [pic]

It never ceases to amaze me the stupid stuff that traditional media will report because they don’t bother to fact check their story before they put it out for all the world to see.  This has to be one of the funnier cases where the lack of fact checking or even common sense destroys the credibility of a news outlet.

Last week, German news channel N24 was covering the Osama Bin Laden story when they thought it would be a good idea to put the logo of Seal Team Six up on their big wall of monitors.  Although I don’t really see the need to show the emblem, I’m glad they did because otherwise this post wouldn’t exist.  Instead of showing the actual Navy Seal Team Six emblem, they did a rather sloppy Google image search on the team and ended up accidentally airing a fan made Star Trek Maquis Seals Team Six emblem instead.

I could understand this mistake if it wasn’t so obviously Star Trek related but this is ridiculous.  The phaser, 3 Klingon bat’leth swords and the Klingon skull with a bolted on eye patch should have been a dead giveaway.   Below is a picture from the newscast as well as the fan made Maquis emblem and the actual Seal Team Six emblem to show that their should be no confusing the two.

Pass this along to all of the Star Trek fans you know!  Like us on Facebook too!
